Neuromuscular Overview
Dr. John W. Day and his team at Stanford and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford have been longtime partners in the Duchenne community, as an advocate for both optimal care in the patient community and as a leading researcher in muscular dystrophy. The clinical team he has assembled at Stanford is a shining example of skill, compassion, and understanding. The Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) looks at these qualities when certifying multi-disciplinary neuromuscular clinics. This is the first neuromuscular clinic in California to receive this special distinction from PPMD.
The Stanford Division of Neuromuscular Medicine conducts comprehensive clinics, laboratory testing, research, teaching, and clinical trials in neuromuscular diseases. Stanford treats patients with muscle, neuromuscular junction and peripheral nerve disorders in our weekly outpatient Neuromuscular Disorders Clinic and Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)/ALS Clinic.
In addition to clinic consultation, we provide a full range of services including electromyography and nerve conduction study, autonomic function testing, muscle, nerve and skin biopsy, physical & occupational therapy, as well as other services available at Stanford University Medical Center.

At Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, our internationally recognized team of experts serves infants to young adults living with close to 50 different neuromuscular conditions.
