Last year, Guardian Angel Sebastian Metz taught self-defense and rape prevention classes, and patrolled Denver streets on foot in an effort to keep citizens safe.

Today, Metz is in a wheelchair and undergoing physical therapy at Craig Hospital because his brain was injured after a 24-hour operation in January to correct a congenital heart defect that nearly claimed his life. (source: Denver Post)

The surgery was performed by Dr. Craig Miller and his cardiovascular surgical team, including Scott Ross and Bobby Oakes, working closely with cardiac anesthesiology faculty, John Chow and Pieter Van der Starre.
