Stanford sponsors residency and fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education. The institution has a history of sponsoring clinical postgraduate training for over 65 years.
The Department of Graduate Medical Education was formerly known as the House Staff Office. Originally its sole purpose was to assist in finding local accommodations for house officers in the Palo Alto area.
The scope of the department has grown to include human resource, financial, and accreditation functions.
This web site is designed to serve as a resource for both our current house staff and individuals wishing more information regarding residency training at Stanford.
