School of Medicine Registrar's Office Joint and Dual Degrees Tuition

MD students applying to other Stanford degrees should review the Dual Degree policies and submit the Dual Degree Authorization form for approval.

Once enrolled in other Stanford degree programs, MD students are assessed tuition as follows:

  • MD candidates pursuing a Master’s Degree will be assessed MD tuition, regardless of the coursework, and will be assessed the MD reduced tuition rate after the 12th full tuition quarter.
  • MD/PhD candidates are assessed 12 quarters full MD tuition, 3 quarters full Graduate tuition, and the MD reduced tuition rate thereafter.
  • MD/MBA candidates are assessed 12 quarters full MD tuition, 5 quarters GSB tuition, and the reduced MD tuition rate thereafter.

Students should submit the Tuition Agreement for Students with Multiple Programs (TAGM) form when starting another degree program in order to ensure the correct tuition assessment each quarter.  Do so by logging on to Axess, clicking the Student tab, and choosing “Student eForms" from the Quick Links menu on the left side of the screen. Click "Available Forms" and look for "Tuition Agreement for Students with Multiple Programs (TAGM)".

University Graduate Tuition Policies for students pursuing multiple degrees are available in the Stanford Bulletin.
