Biosciences PhD Graduation Reception

Graduating students in the Biosciences Home Programs, Bioengineering, and Medical Scientist Training Program who have earned or will earn their PhD during the 2017-18 academic year are invited to join the Stanford Medicine Alumni Association and Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education, Will Talbot, for a reception celebrating your graduation. Eligible graduates will receive an invitation via email by mid-May 2018; RSVP is required. For questions, contact Monica Devlin.

Stanford Baccalaureate

A bookend to students' Opening Convocation held four years earlier, Baccalaureate at Stanford is a multifaith celebratory gathering for graduating seniors, graduate students, and professional students, as well as their families and friends.

It is a student-led commemoration acknowledging the spiritual contribution to the education of the whole person, organized under the auspices of the Office for Religious Life (ORL). In addition to lively music from culturally diverse backgrounds, the program includes readings from different communities and perspectives which represent the wide range of religious traditions are represented within the ORL by over 30 organizations of Stanford Associated Religions (SAR).

Writer, poet and memoirist Elizabeth Alexander has been named as speaker for this year’s Baccalaureate.

The world-renowned biochemist, Nobel laureate, educator and advocate for scientific freedom will speak at the School of Medicine’s commencement on June 16.

Stanford University Commencement

Stanford Medicine faculty and graduates are encouraged to attend Stanford's 127th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 17, in Stanford Stadium.  The speaker delivering the graduation address will be Sterling K. Brown, '98.

No tickets are required.

Procession begins at 9:30 AM*
Ceremony begins at 10:00 AM
