Farewell, Willemieke Tummers

Today we bid farewell to Willemieke Tummers, MD, a visiting scholar in the Multimodality Molecular Imaging Laboratory (MMIL). She will be leaving the lab on April 13th to go back to the Netherlands. At her hospital at Leiden University Medical Center, she will continue her research projects in intra-operative fluorescent imaging for pancreatic cancer and finish her Ph.D. within the next year.
Afterwards she will do Surgical Residency in the Netherlands with the intent to become an oncologic surgeon. It is likely that she will continue her collaboration between the Gambhir Lab and the Vahrmeijer Lab, so hopefully she won’t really leave and we can continue collaborating with her on future projects.
