Stanford Hospital and Clinics

Stanford Hospital and Clinics are known worldwide for advanced patient care, particularly for the treatment of rare and complex disorders. The adult kidney transplant program has one of the most successful one-year survival rates in the nation.

Nephrology Clinic 
Meets three half-days each week and serves patients with all types of renal disease, electrolyte disorders, kidney stones, and hypertension. Reflecting the research interests of several faculty members, there is an emphasis on chronic glomerular injury, both diabetic and immunological, the nephrotic syndrome, chronic kidney and end stage renal disease. All clinics are in the main hospital located in the Boswell building on the 1st floor.

Renal Transplant Clinic
A post-transplant clinic meets two half-days weekly to follow patients after transplantation. There is also a third renal transplant clinic each week to evaluate patients with end-stage renal failure for transplantation. Stanford Kidney Stone Clinic

Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS)

General Nephrology Clinic
Patients with a variety of kidney diseases are seen in this weekly clinic located on the Palo Alto campus.

General Nephrology Clinic (Livermore)
This clinic extension of the VAPAHCS serves patients from East Bay and is held weekly.

Dialysis Clinic
This clinic meets weekly to evaluate the pre-dialysis patient for renal replacement therapy, manage patients undergoing dialysis, and manage the care of kidney transplant recipients.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center

Operated by the County of Santa Clara and located approximately 22 miles southeast of the university campus, the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center has 528 beds, and 70 acute rehabilitation beds. The outpatient department had 516,393 visits last year. The patient population at the SCVMC is an extraordinary mixture of patients with common and exotic kidney diseases which complement the patient population at the other two hospitals.

The Nephrology Clinic at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center provides a broad range of services including consultation for hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis and other nephrologic diseases.
