A Map of Hope

Collaborating to find solutions for kidney stones

The story of a unique partnership formed when a patient collaborates with a physician-researcher, Dr. Alan Pao, at Stanford. Working together, they combine the power of philanthropy and science to create new solutions that address the suffering caused by chronic kidney stones.

Donate Online

Donations can be made online via Stanford's Make a Gift site.

Follow these simple steps to direct the gift to the Nephrology division, program, or Faculty member of your choice.

  • Under “Direct your gift” choose “Other Stanford Designation” from the drop-down menu.
  • An “Other” text box will open. Add “The Med/Nephrology Division” to that text box.
  • You can write out more details in the text box as well, however, aren’t required to say more. Here’s an example: “The Med/Nephrology Division general fund to support ongoing education, research & other needs.”
  • To donate to a specific Faculty Member in Nephrology or a specific program, be sure to include the Faculty member’s full name, such as “Glenn M. Chertow, MD in the Nephrology Division.”
