Resilience: Talking mental illness with Glenn and Jessie Close

Glenn Close is one of America’s most acclaimed actors. She’s built an enormously successful career in film, television and on the stage. Outside the limelight of the entertainment world, Close has put her star power into an organization created to challenge the stigma of mental illness. She founded the organization – Bring Change 2 Mind – to honor her sister, Jessie, who has bipolar disorder. Jessie struggled with symptoms of mental illness throughout her life – drugs, alcohol and bad decisions about love. It was not until the age of 50 that she was diagnosed and treated for bipolar disease.  She’s written a memoir about her life entitled Resilience. In these podcasts, Glenn and Jessie close talk candidly about mental illness.
