2017-2018 Applicant Interview Information

Visiting Stanford for an Interview

Information Session

For those invited for an interview for the  2017-2018 application cycle: 

Arrival on Friday for the Information Session is  between 1:45 and 2 p.m. at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge, located at 291 Campus Drive, Stanford.  We will be on the second floor.  We recommend that you park in Parking Structure 5 as noted below, in the Transportation section. For those interviewing on Friday, LKSC is a short walk from the Medical School Office Building.

Interview Session

For those invited for an interview for the 2017-2018 application cycle:

Interviews will be held on Friday morning and Saturday.  Arrival times are variable and were indicated in your invitation.  Please do not arrive  before the time indicated on your invitation.  You should plan for the entire session to last approximately 60 minutes. The interview will be panel style and will include standardized questions as well as questions generated after review of your individual application file.  Applicants are to meet at the Medical School Office Building (MSOB), Suite 100. 

The Medical School Office Building (MSOB) is located on the corner of Campus Drive West and Welch Road, between Panama Street and Welch Road.  The street address is 1265 Welch Road, Stanford, CA.  There is a small amount of parking in front of the building, and some street parking on Welch; otherwise, you should park in Parking Structure 5 as noted below.

 

Lodging

For those needing lodging, the Stanford Guest House is on campus and provides the closest accomodations.  There are also many other options in the area; a complete list of hotels can be found here.

 

If you are interested in staying with a current MSPA student on Friday night, please e-mail our Admissions Office Student Liaison,  Angelica He.  Please note that there are a limited number of spots available.

 

Transportation

For those driving to campus: on both days you will want to park in Parking Structure 5, as indicated below.  Please be advised that a permit is required on Fridays; please click here for information on that.  In planning your travel time, please be advised that traffic around and on campus can be heavy on Fridays.

For those taking Caltrain: Upon arrival at the Palo Alto Caltrain station you can catch the Marguerite, the University's complimentary shuttle service, on Friday (the lines below do not run on weekends).  Some walking will be involved, but you can reach the Li Ka Shing Center on the MC line, the X line, or the XL (X-Limited) line.  For the MC line, you will get off at the Across Street from Lucas Center stop (please click here for route map and schedule).  For the X and XL lines, you will get off at the Medical Center (Quarry Extension) stop (please click here for route map and schedule).
