Marc Stevens Awarded Molecular Imaging Young Investigator Prize

January 28, 2019

Dr. Marc Stevens, Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Michelle James’ Lab, has been awarded the 2019 Molecular Imaging Young Investigator (MIYI) prize for his research project based on his application entitled, "Imaging the Gut-Brain Superhighway: Development of a PET Tracer Targeting Peripheral Alpha-Synuclein in Rodent Models of Parkinson’s Disease". Applicants were asked to submit a 3-page proposal describing a new research project they would like to pursue for one year with a budget of $30,000.

This year we again received a highly competitive group of proposals that have been read by our MIPS MIYI Review Committee.  All proposals were judged on the novelty and potential impact of the work, how well the author articulated the background and current state of the field, and the estimated budget and time-line to complete the proposed work.

Congratulations, Marc, on submitting a very innovative and well-written proposal!

MIYI Runner-ups

It was indeed a very competitive group of applicants. Therefore, I recognize the following three trainees who tied for second place with their excellent proposals. Their final scores were nearly identical to each other’s.
