Memorial service for Oscar Salvatierra set for May 23

A memorial service for the longtime Stanford surgeon will be held at the Arrillaga Alumni Center.

The Stanford community is invited to attend a memorial service for Oscar Salvatierra, MD, professor emeritus of surgery and of pediatrics at the School of Medicine, to be held from 6-7:30 p.m. May 23 at the Arrillaga Alumni Center.

Salvatierra, who founded the pediatric kidney transplant program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, was a leader in the effort to enact national legislation regulating organ donation. He died March 16. He was 83.
